...in the afternoon Mom and Dad and Grandpa and me went to Denise and Big Tony's for an Easter egg hunt with Little Tony, Mary, Alana and all the neighbor kids.
Dad made me wear a dress. And sandals.
It's hard to crawl in sandals.
Bye - I love you,
Sophia

"I Love You More Than Words Can Tell"

Here's my "Baby Jerry" outfit that I got from Ella's mommy and daddy. My daddy likes to sing Jerry songs to me before I go to bed. "Brokedown Palace" is my favorite.
Brokedown Palace (Garcia, Hunter)
Fare you well, my honey,
Fare you well my only true one.
All the birds that were singing are flown,
except you alone.
Going to leave this brokedown palace,
On my hand and my knees,
I will roll, roll, roll.
Make myself a bed in the waterside,
In my time, In my time,
I will roll, roll roll.
In a bed, in a bed,
By the waterside I will lay my head.
Listen to the river sing sweet songs,
To rock my soul.
River going to take me, sing sweet and sleepy,
Sing me sweet and sleepy all the way back home.
It’s a far gone lullaby, sung many years ago.
Mama, mama many worlds I’ve come since I first left home.
Goin’ home, goin’ home,
By the riverside I will rest my bones,
Listen to the river sing sweet songs,
To rock my soul.
Going to plant a weeping willow,
On the bank’s green edge it will grow, grow, grow.
Sing a lullaby beside the water,
Lovers come and lovers go, the river roll, roll, roll.
Fare you well, fare you well,
I love you more than words can tell,
Listen to the river sing sweet songs,
To rock my soul.
Bye - I love you,
Sophia

I'm going to a festival!
Okay, Daddy. I'll play with my new blog.
Jeesh. Parents get SO uptight sometimes.
I mean, I LOVE my Mommy and Daddy...
Daddy got us tickets today for Smilefest. This is my first festival! It's happening in Lake Toxaway, NC - June 1-4.
Some of Mommy and Daddy and my favorite bands are going to play: Yonder Mountain String Band, Hot Buttered Rum String Band, Darol Anger's Republic of Strings, Keller and the Keels, Jeff Coffin's Mu'tet, Michael Franti and Spearhead and one of our friends from right here in Atlanta - Ralph Roddenberry.
If you want to come to the festival with us, you can find out about Smilefest and get tickets here.
See you in June!
I love you,
Sophia

Mother and Daughter in Asheville

Jennifer and Sophia in Asheville at Betsy's. The high chair is new - having to drive to Asheville every weekend is starting to wear a bit, methinks. (4 more weeks....)

Just like kids...

You set up a new blog for them, you get them to promise to take it for walks, feed it, clean up after it....
...but who ends up doing the work?
Dad.
Okay - here's a series of posts with some new pix of the little princess.

News from Hotlanta.

It's not very hot yet.
Daddy works a lot.
Mommy takes me to Asheville every weekend while she teaches. We stay with my Aunt Betsy - she's the best. I love her two cats, Marley and Frisco. That's me in the picture. The cat is Frisco.
We have to go to Asheville for ten days so that Mommy can help lead a professional development workshop. She is in charge of putting teaching artists in the Asheville schools to teach big kids about Shakespeare. We'll leave here on the 16th and be back on the 26th. Then, we have to do it again at the beginning of march.
I'm going to miss my daddy a lot while we're gone. He's going to come see us, though. He is coming up with my Uncle Tim on the 19th, and on the 20th, they're loading up the U-Haul with all our stuff to take it back to Georgia.
Mommy has an audition at UG-Athens on March 11th. She's working hard on her audition pieces right now. Wish her luck!
Grandma is coming to visit from Illinois at the end of March. She's going to come up to Asheville with us for the weekend. I can't wait! I hope she brings lots of new pictures of my cousin Nate. I miss my family in Illinois.
TODAY IS MY UNCLE BEN'S BIRTHDAY!!!!
Happy birthday, Uncle Ben! I think he's about eleventy-hundred years old. Daddy says he's 29, but he sure looks big to me!
I gotta go - nap time...
I love you,
Sophia
